WHY A MISSION? PERSONAL GOALS
WHY A MISSION? PERSONAL GOALS
9/1/25
I have been pondering WHY I feel so drawn to serve a mission, especially at this stage of relative comfort and ease in my life. Thoughts......
- deep desire to be part of a faith legacy, following the example of Grandma and Grandpa Tate who greatly influenced me in their missionary service
- want to share in Kyla’s heritage - something very significant as family
- confirm our absolute commitment to the gospel to our children and grandchildren - no doubt where we stand
-want to help others find the great joy and hope and purpose available through the gospel
- feel so abundantly blessed - want to show my deep-felt gratitude and love to Heavenly Father and the Savior
- in so many ways, I feel “prepared for such a time as this”
PERSONAL DESIRES AND GOALS:
-learn to “Hear Him” better
-“Have I done any good in the world today?”
-build an extra closeness with Jim
-love, love, love the people of Cambodia
-make the most of this incredible learning with the language and culture
-make journaling a more dedicated part of my life
-work with young, newly converted mothers to have joy in their responsibilities
(to fulfill a promise in my patriarchal blessing)
-find ways to share our mission experiences/testimony with our family
-really feel an increased relationship with the Savior (not just know “of” Him)
-reach out beyond myself and help others to come closer to Christ
