MISSION ASSIGNMENT

MISSION ASSIGNMENT

Thurs., Sept. 18th

We were able to meet with Pres. and Sis. Hoare to discuss the vision he has for us with our mission area of service. Since we are the new additions to the mission (not replacing an existing couple), the area of focus is being developed.  For the current time, we are assigned to help build and support a little group in Kamboul (about 45 min. west of us).  They are not yet a branch, so we call them a "twig!"  They are under the direction of the Pochentong ward but are far enough away that many cannot travel there on a regular basis.

Then in the near future, President Hoare would like to open up a new area of Cambodia that does not yet have missionaries, Kampong Speu.  He would like us to be a part of that beginning development.  This is even further than Kamboul and is actually a pretty big area geographically.  We would have the option of moving out there or commuting from our current location.

There are some interesting aspects to absorb with this assignment.  We are giving it much prayer and pondering!  The big goal is exciting!  How it looks on a day-to-day basis is a little hard to wrap our heads around!  But we love being trusted with laying some groundwork in this area and bringing our love and support.  This makes me think of Grandma and Grandpa Tate in Antigua opening the church there.  What did they do?  What was there daily life like?
