FLYING

 FLYING

Sept. 15-16, 2025

We are off!! Let the adventure begin!!

After heartfelt hugs with grandchildren and family, we left our home at 7:45 in the morning, and stopped at CVS enroute to get our needed immunization. Big check!

Annie, Jon, and Spencer all took us the airport. They parked and came in and helped us with luggage. Yes, we kept our two suitcases under 50 lb. each! (Thankfully we didn't have to take bulky sweaters and coats, boots, etc.) They stayed with us right up to the point of separation at security. It meant so much to have their loving send off!

We soon discovered that wearing nametags in public is an immediate conversation draw. We are always the example and need to always take time to talk happily with people.

Our first flight was a 13-hour direct flight to Seoul, Korea. We were wondering how that would be beforehand, but it was pleasantly doable!  We sat in seats by the exit doors so had lots of leg room. The food was surprisingly good, with hot meals included. An occasional stretch, lots of sleep, and reading time made the time pass smoothly. TThe Seoul airport was beautiful, a general air of calmness, cleanliness, and kindness. Lots of greenery was integrated everywhere, including a giant wall of vine plants. They had very unique children's play areas, nice bathrooms, classical music playing, andeven a body shower spa area. Nice relaxation for our 3 1/2 hour layover.

Next was our 5 hour flight to Cambodia. After a 1-hour delay starting, our flight went smoothly. We arrived at their brand new airport, which just opened last week! Beautiful and spacious! We were unsure which visa line to get in, but eventually got it figured out. We almostmost didn’t have one piece of luggage, but it finally showed up, thank goodness. Pres. and Sis. Hoare and El. and Sis. Clark were there to greet us!!  What a very genuine, warm welcome!!  They radiated such happiness, even at that very late hour! (close to midnight)

We were about 1 hour getting out of the parking lot; with it being a new airport, they are still getting their systems worked out.

The drive home was fun, even in the middle of the night, seeing street vendors and little markets busily working to set up for the next day. We are really here!!!
